The new year always goes hand in hand with new resolutions and a new semester of school. Staying home on endless zoom calls forced all of us to develop new daily routines in the confinements of our homes. Whether you are in college or high school, I think we can all relate to one thing, the summer, shorter fall term, and longer winter break has caused us to fall out of routine and structure.

In the spirit of a more normal 2021, I have put together a list of my top 10 favorite planners to get your student schedule back in style.

PS: Even though 2021 has started, it’s never too late to get organized!

Planners are listed in no particular order.

This planner would work great for any student who enjoys doing lots of planning, while

This planner is a great size to carry around on the go. If you are the type of person that loves to plan your time out by the hour this is your go to planner. This journal will not only keep you organized by the hour but can help you remember important information and structure your future plans. And the best part is, it's eco-friendly!

  • This planner is sold at cottonon

  • Monthly calendars

  • Made from recycled material

  • Has bonus pages such as: zodiac guide, bucket list, goals/drams, maps, challenges, birthday trackers, contacts, personal info, and holidays

This planner is more of the typical classic planner your middle schools would hand to you when the year started. Of course this one has a more sophisticated grown up vibe with an elegant cover and larger spiral rings holding the pages together. This planner is for students who like the classic monthly viewed followed by layouts for each week.

  • 12 months of planner, separated by tabs

  • Each month includes a dated calendar, dated weekly planning spaces, a goals section, and a reflection section

This planner is perfect for anyone wanting to tap into their creative side while keeping organized through weekly and monthly spreads. This is also a great planner to get if you are interested in starting a bullet journal as it gives great layout and spread ideas. This will also help you get used to the bullet journal style. Despite the price of this journal, the money is well spent on the quality of the journal and the practical size of the planner.

Emma's Planner is perfect for first time planner users who want to ease into using a planner. Because of the large size of this planner it is hard to take around. It is perfect if you want to use something like this at a desk where it is kept permanently. This planner also offers tons of fun activities if you are looking for something that has more than just planning. And if you are someone like me, and want to be Emma's best friend, this planner may just be a great additional purchase to the planner you already have.

Archer and Olive offers a super quality journal. My personal favorite size is the A5 because it is a standard journal size, can easily fit in a backpack, and is the perfect amount of page size. This company is a small but fast growing women owned business and is totally worth supporting. Their paper quality is impeccable and nothing not even paint will bleed through the pages. I can first hand say these journals are worth the investment as I am speaking from personal experience.

  • Undated Planner $40.00 USD

  • Dated 2021 Planner $35.00 USD

  • weekly spreads to plan

  • monthly calendar

  • plan doted pages

  • area to write out your schedule

  • eco and vegan friendly

Bullet Journaling Options

I use bullet journaling as I enjoy drawing and being creative. This is perfect for anyone who wants to customize their own planner . You can watch Amandarachlee's videos on youtube to see if this is something you want to get into. While it is more work it can be very therapeutic and a great way to keep yourself on top of tasks, priorities, and upcoming events on your calendar.

While these journals are expensive, much like their planners they are super quality. If this is not your first time bullet journaling I totally recommend trying these out! There are so many colors, designs, and covers to choose from.

  • $32.00 USD

  • dot grid

  • 160 pages

  • pockets in front and back

  • pen holder

  • book marker with charm

  • elastic close

  • vegan and eco friendly

This notebook is very similar to the quality of the Archer and Olive notebook and offers a lot of the same features, and it is a bit cheaper. If this is your first time bullet journaling and you want to go for a higher quality of notebook this may be the one. Again if you have bullet journaled before and want a more quality notebook this one is well priced and offers a quality page.

  • $26.00 USD

  • 160 pages

  • vegan leather cover

  • pen holder

  • back pocket

  • two ribbon bookmark with charm

  • elastic close

  • numbered pages

  • comes in 5 different colors

This was my very first bullet journal, and for the price I found the page quality was super thick and had a nice white color. For first time bullet journalists I 100% recommend getting this journal.

  • $6.99 USD

  • can be bought at Michael's art supply

  • 192 pages

  • two ribbon bookmarks

  • elastic close
